cpap data

Post by kdiverson » Sun Oct 04, 2009 11:29 am

my software and data reader arrived on friday, and here is my first week of data. my machine is set for CPAP, fixed at 11, ramps from 7 to 11. from what i have gleaned from the group this is good for the first week?

Image

any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

My first apt with my Specialist is not until November. One of the things that i plan on asking him is for a prescription for a week on a oximeter from the DME, to see if my O2 saturation levels have risen above 90 while on cpap. During the first sleep study, my saturation levels dropped as low as 85, but averaged 89.

Are you looking at your detailed graphs which will show your hypopnea and apneas including length of apneas. Will also show your mask leak rate which may decrease effectiveness of treatment. Chose the DETAILED GRAPHS tab and click on each day you have detailed data for. Goal will be to get your AHI lower. What was your AHI during your sleep study?
Any reason your AutoSet II is set for CPAP rather than Auto.......the ramp from 7 seems a little low for a goal of treatment pressure of 11.......what's the length of your ramp time?

I have looked at the graphs, but i am not quite sure how to understand the length of the hypopnea and apneas. the mask leak rate has been good, if i understand the data. they started the ramp up from 4 inatialy, but it was to low and i asked the RT to raise it. I have asked for the machine to be changed to auto papa, but RT says change has to be aproved by DR. For now i will leave it, and ask for the change when i see the DR.

is a graph of recent day. i dont understand how to tell how long the apneas or hyperapneas were, just the actual count

The hypopnea lengths are not available, only the count.

The Apnea length is the little number you see in the little box.
12 means 12 seconds
11 means 11 seconds.

So if you see on showing 12 it means one event of 12 seconds in duration. Sometimes when they are close together it is harder to read the numbers.

I don't mean to Hijack this thread but I am trying to get these graphs also and can not do it.

I have tried to get the detailed graphs like this but When I click on the day (after clicking on detail graphs) It says:
"No Detail Data Available" do I need to change something in the machine so it will download to the chip the data I need???

Or am I not doing something right ?

I'm still trying to figure that out myself. there are only 3 days of my download that have data available. i am not sure if it had to do with the way i downloaded the data, or if the machine just didn't save it.

Well this is the blind leading the blind but I think the machine automatically downloads what it has been told to (by the settings programed in by the DME)
So I don't think it has anything to do with the way you downloaded.....

I will be sooooooooooo happy when I know all about the ResScan software.......

Lou, my machine is a mac that I also boot for Windows for the software. If I recall, when you download data the default option is to default summary only. On the default page, you should be able to click next to where it says summary only to detail. Give this a try.

Thanks for the hint Gary,,,,

OK, I downloaded the Manual file and printed it out, put it in a binder and was reading it when I saw your hint.

YOU are 100% correct, the default was set for summary only. I changed that, reran the download from the chip and now I got detailed data.......

I won't hijack this thread any longer but go back to my original and add some pics ofd etailed data....

The time scale on the ResScan graphs can be easily expanded.... its not at all hard to read the numbers.

Bill, I do not have ResMed machine or software so I could not explain how to get into the software to enable someone to stretch out the time frame. I have Encore Viewer and we don't have that nifty little feature.

It is hard for me to read the numbers in the boxes in the screen images that are presented here. Tiny....

Perhaps it would be helpful if someone who knows how to expand the time line would put forth those instructions for those that need or want it...... I would have if I could.

You have full control over what is downloaded.

The selection defaults to Summary data only unless you change it.

If you click on the Select button next to the Data display are on the Download Data dialogue box, instead of just hitting the Start Download button, you will go to the Select Data Type To Download dialogue.

If you want a simple way to get everything available, every time, just select the All Available Data radio button on the Select Data Type To Download dialogue before hitting the OK button.

You also have option to just download smaller ranges of data if you chose, though using other selections in that same dialogue box.

Cheers,

Bill

Perhaps you should limit your comments to devices and software that you do know about then.

Perhaps you shouldn't tell me what to do. I was only trying to help. So sorry if I don't meet to most excellent standards.
