Auto Set question

Post by Woody3 » Thu Oct 01, 2009 7:11 am

I just started playing with an auto cpap. I was originally titrated during my sleep study at 14cm but have gained a few pounds
sense the study. I set the auto for 10 to 17cm. Last night was the first time I tried it. It seems it never went below 12.5cm
and hit 17cm a couple of times with an ahi of 14. I was thinking of resetting it to 14cm low to 20cm high does that seem a
reasonable next step?

Any decision has to be based oh how you feel, and what your AHI was.

It sounds like you have the software to see what's happening during the night.......

You would also need to base your decisions on what types of things (events) are driving the pressure changes.....leaks, snores, flow limitations, hypopneas and/or apneas. Some things (leaks and snores) may be bumping your pressures needlessly.

I would not make ANY changes based on ONE night's data. There are just too many temporary variables.

I'd use a sample of no less than 5 consecutive nights...preferably a week. And then only change ONE thing at a time. Otherwise you'll be chasing shadows...
