Hi,
New to this forum. I have a question: What is the difference between the models S8 VPAP Auto 25 and S8 AutoSet II CPAP. I know that the VPAP is a bilevel and the other is Autopap. If you read the details on S8 AutoSet II CPAP it says 'However, EPR does feel very much like a Bilevel to the patient'. How much does the expiratory pressure drop to? Can it be set to drop to a level that is similar to a VPAP?

Re: Difference between S8 VPAP Auto 25 and S8 AutoSet II CPAP
I have an S8 AutoSet II and have never needed or tried the VPAP. I do not use my EPR at all any more. I did not find it helpful and thought it was more trouble than help. The S8 AutoSet II can be set to drop 1.0 cm H2O or 2.0 cm H2O or 3.0 cm H2O on exhale. I also think you can set it to drop fast or medium or slow but that may have been my old S8 Elite II. Since my 95% pressure runs about 12.0 to 14.2 on any given night, I do not find it necessary to decrease pressure when I exhale. In fact, I really do not even notice the pressure or any changes in pressure made automatically by my S8 AutoSet II. For reference, using the ResMed Activa Nasal Mask my leak is around 0.1 to 0.1, my AHI is around 2.0 to 2.8 and my AI is around 0.0 to 0.1 although once my AI was 0.2. I also tend to use my machine and sleep just slightly less tha 8 hours every night.

EPR drops up to 3 cm H2O. VPAP, or bilevel, is usually 4 cm H2O or more.rahul wrote:Hi,
