Can therapy be to good?

Post by bratt122 » Thu Sep 08, 2005 6:42 am

I have been a cpap user for I guess about eight months. When I first started using my machine I went to sleep with-in minutes. Now I think I am back to sleeping like I use to before sleep apnea. It takes a longer time to fall asleep and its harder to stay asleep.I wake up okay sometimes feeling a little tired but not exhausted.I don't fall asleep during the day and have to much energy for a nap even though I'm tired. Nothing has changed weight is still the same work and kids are the same(lol). Can apnea just go away or is this thereapy that good? I am not really complaining just want to know if anyone else has had this happen is it temporary, should I try one night without cpap?

Bratt,
A lot of similarities in our posts this morning viewtopic.php?t=4526. Although I've only been on therapy three months, I had a very quick positive reaction to it and only until recently, when things have changed for about a little over a week now, have I lost that unlimited energy and feeling great that I had attained.

I lost weight not from just going on therapy, but as a result of changing my lifestyle, which included eating correctly finally and exercising, only because I now had the energy to do it. Weight did not just fall off for me just because I went on CPAP. You may want to check out Yawn's (Amy) post from 9/6 called "Anybody Interested" all about our forming a support group for that purpose. She had a lot of takers, myself included.

Seems you and I are having the same reaction out of nowhere with this lack of sleeping well, waking up at night a lot again and having trouble falling asleep, which is only sometimes, though, for me. I've been so tired the past two nights, it's been like pre-therapy where I hit the pillow and I'm out.

Sorry to hear you, too, are going through this. Just when you think you have it beat, things take a turn backwards...

Hi Sleepless,It does appear our posts are alike. I think the difference is I am filled with energy during the day even though I am feeling somewhat tired.
I was thinking that maybe my life was going back to the way things were before I developed the apnea.
All I know is recently I have had this rainout happen and I used to be comfortable with the mask and now that has become an annoyance.I wish I could get a grip on whats going on.

Bratt,
I must have misunderstand your post. I was filled with energy too until about a week ago, unlimited, wonderful energy. Now, out of nowhere, I am not sleeping well at all and am less energetic. I couldn't stop yawning yesterday and even remarked that I almost felt pre-cpap again.

Glad you're not in my position, then. Guess your therapy is doing very well. I'm happy for you.
