Masks / Cushions

Post by BigOffshoreDaddy » Sun Sep 20, 2009 11:15 am

Hello all. Just discovered this forum and am glad to be here!

I have OSA and use a ResMed S8 Elite II with H4i Heated Humidifier with a large Quattro full face. My pressure is 20. I have been using it for about 14 months now and it has truly saved my life!

I am sure that this may have been addressed before somewhere, so have mercy on a noobie. I am curious to know if you can use a mask that is not the same model as your machine. I ask this because I am becoming increasingly frustrated with the cushion that comes with my mask. I go through cushions at the rate of about one a month. They work fine until about week three, then I am reordering another one.

Can you use another mask that is not designed for that machine? Anyone use a different mask with this machine? Any suggestions as to what has worked for you, either with this mask or with a different one?

Again, good to be here! Thanks for the understanding and patience.

If my memory serves me correctly, you can use any mask with any machine. Now some machines have a setting where you can match the mask or one similar to it in the setting of the machine. It take into account the mask's leak rate when creating your reports.

Just so the answer didn't get lost, any mask with any machine.
