you know i would not have spent 4+ hours today answering and responding to questions and comments if i didnt care.

I hope that is evident and i can spend more time helping than defending myself.

I really feel cpap has always been my specialty and i love what i do, i may just have to start my own blog. maybe ill get less abuse there!!!

regards
yvette.

Virgo, Welcome. For most of us here, we've been virtually abandoned by the medical community including DMEs, RTs, sleep specialists, and this forum and the experts here as well as the newbies are the only ones we have to rely on and we hold them in very high esteem. We're really a nice group of fellow travelers who are in various stages on this difficult journey who give each other tremendous support and good advice without sounding preachy or condescending. We also have a lot of fun! I'm looking forward to some good down to earth suggestions from you based on the real input you get from your own patients.
Dori

Virgo... don't take offense at some of the comments of some of the folks here. The few RT's that have stayed seemed to have to develop thick skins (check out mattman for one).

Some people around here just read, some comment and read, some only read some of posts (and not entire posts) and comment... plus some of us just vent due to what is imposed on us, usually by the insurance company's list of DME's.

Your comments, while valid in a lot of cases need to take into account that a bunch of us are in Dr/Insurance circumstances that hamper things, as well as costs and the information that we're told by DME's that are supposed to be working for us (after all that's what we pay them for, right?). Sometimes it's the Dr, sometimes it's the insurance, and sometimes it's the DME that we're told that we "have" to use. Could be any of those that isn't being cooperative.

A lot of times we learn more here then we do with our uncooperative system that is supposed to be helping us. People learning from other people's mistakes and questions that they'd already asked. We can usually get better support when people are cooperative... and that's usually what shows up here. It's user support though, not usually professional (though we have a few of those around that pipe up from time to time).

Anyways, these people... as in any people... you have to take them with their personality quirks... and we really do hope that you'll stick around.
