The mask you describe (ComfortGel?) may not be the best for a side sleeper. A nasal pillow interface such as the Breeze or Swift are favored by many here. In a more traditional mask the Activa gets high regard.

As to water building up in the mask this is known as rainout -- condensation from the moisture added by the humidifier. Turning down the humidifier can help, but the real solution is to get a heated hose which is available only from the people who developed it in Australia, I believe.

Well, leaking water is called "rainout", it's the result of the humidity condensing in the hose or mask.

Some have found the solution to buy a fleece wrapping for your hose.

Others, one of them yours truly, have found that the best solution is to buy a heaeted hose. http://www.sleepzone.com.au makes ans sells them. (Being Australian, they call them tubes, not hoses...) They sell worldwide, and everyone seems very satisified with them - both with the hose, and the service.

I use a nasal pillows mask (Breeze) so I can't help you with the air blowing into you eyes.

I to am a side sleeper. I currently have a Flexifit and a an Ultra Mirage that I switch between. I don't seem to have problems with the air blowing in my eyes with either. I have tried breeze and my nares can't tolerate the the pillows. Althougth it was very comfortable other than the pillows.

My eye doc, sleep doc and RT all told me that the blowing air in my eyes can cause eye damage. I urge you to talk to your doc or your RT about another mask that may fit better.

Best,
Teri
