Thanks Rested. I have been happy with how things are going so would be disspointed if my numbers are not cutting it.

I had an interesting talk with my doctor.
He likes Phillips over resmed. Why? He says they have a better algorithm and the leak shows lower than it really is.
He also,said resmed spends more money on the interface and making it more user friendly for the average person.
What do I think......he likes Phillips because patients have to see him more and have less control. Resmed may go for the Walmart style and leave out the docs. . .?
Of course I have resmed and love it.
My average ahi on Phillips was high 4s. Back then they told me all was good. Never made changes. Never told me anything except see you in 6 months.
Now with rend my ahi is in the lower 3s with many nights in the ones. And I have total control and knowledge. Thanks to you guys here. Not the doctor.

I am going to try to remember to weigh in tomorrow after looking at what my last year's average AHI has been. I was unsure whether to choose the first option or the second, so might as well let the machine tell me.

I will have to say that this forum has helped me many times over and I am very thankful for the people here.

I can't comment on the differences between Phillips and Resmed as I have always had Resmed.

I think that a lot depends on the type of data that is needed. Typically I will track the number of events, type, and duration.

There are others who have more serious issues and need additional data and I'm not sure if Sleepyhead is a better alternative, but it works with either machine.

I will say that there are things beyond just machine settings that can be done to improve therapy. I have about a half a dozen bed pillows and over the years I have used different combinations. I've been using two and the most recent combination seems to help to give better results. We also added a mattress topper. I don't think that made any impact.

My wife has me taking CoQ10 and Omega 3. Admittedly I have lost 70lbs and that has lower my pressure but it didn't lower my AHI.

However, through a lot of different little things, I have lowered my AHI from over 5. In the past month I am under 3. What is strange is that the number of centrals have dropped significantly. It seems that it is a process and you just have to keep moving forward.
