Re: OT: What do you do for a living?
I am a Registered Nurse. Worked in the Emergency Room for eleven years and now I am working in the computer department (IT). I now teach the medical staff computer documentation as well as test, implement and maintain new applications for the medical staff. I am fortunate that I have a great job which I love.

I'm similar to Jules. Worked for 38 years as a math instructor at a community college.
Now retired, enjoying some tutoring, visiting my daughters (both teachers also, one in Atlanta - Riverdale, one in Greensboro, whose a french horn instructor and plays in the symphony), attending to my dogs, work around the house, and trying to keep my wife out of trouble. I also am involved in church and community volunteer work.

I do as I am told
Sometimes the load is light
but I don't mind.

I have no doubt, how I sleep affects every waking moment.
I am making progress-NOW I remember that I can't remember

If this isn’t rocket science why are there so many spaceshots?

Without people like dad1717 (the Tireman) and goofproof (the Mechanic) I wouldn't be the "Been Everywhere Man" I am today.

Re: OT: What do you do for a living?
In the past I have worked in commercial outdoor property maintenance (clearing land/mowing etc.); in carpet-cleaning (as a laborer and then in sales and office work); in residential construction (mostly framing/roofing); four-color rotary printing (pressroom and bindery); publishing (proofreading, fact-checking, research, copy-editing, etc.); but I haven't been very good at any of them. Through it all, singing, songwriting, and performing have been a side hobby, both solo and in bands. Now my wife and I volunteer full-time supporting educational work we believe in. So I guess you could say we don't 'do' anything 'for a living.' Instead, living is what we do. And now that my OSA is diagnosed and getting good treatment (thanks to this forum), I've gotten a lot better at the living part over the last year or so, especially the sleeping well at night part!
Re: OT: What do you do for a living?
I'm 62. I semi-retired when I was 32. I retired at age 43.

Consulting Engineer
Every time I say that, I'm reminded of the definition of a consultant.
A man had a large tom cat who enjoyed himself with the lady cats every night - making such a racket that the man couldn't sleep. Eventually, dog tired?, he takes his tom to the vet for the C op. After a week of recuperation without his goolies, tomcat wakes his owner up at two in the morning. Out he goes and grabs old tomcat by the scruff of the neck, and asks why he's making such a racket - since he can't do anything anymore. Old tomcat replies, "I'm a consultant now."

Re: OT: What do you do for a living?
I'm a Biomedical equipment technician, working at a large healthcare practice. I'm finding this cpap journey fascinating. Probably because I love working with electronic machinery I'm more inclined to accept the mask and hose. Except for the discomfort, I was so fascinated by the wires during my second sleep study! Sorry, though I can see my doctor any time I want, just by walking by his office, I don't have any inside info (clinician's manual) on the xpap machines.
