Atrial Fibrillation

I have recently started CPAP. As of last week I also have been diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation!
This is new, and I'm worried. Has anyone else gotten this diagnosis after recently starting
CPAP "

It's most likely been an ongoing condition. I had the same diagnosis before my last surgery and before going on xPAP.
Cardiologist said that apnea and AFIB are associated with each other. They're not sure which is the cause and which is the effect. Quick shots of adrenalin (from lack of oxygen) tends to send the heart racing.
Since I've been on xPAP, mine has been a non-issue, well controlled and sometimes nonexistent. My PCP said that the AFIB may even go away after they get done screwing around with my thyroid levels (another AFIB trigger)

I had an Atrial Flutter event (similar to Fibrillation) about 7 months prior to being diagnosed with OSA.

Hello,
I am a 32 year old female who just got the exact same diagnosis. Absolutely no heart disease history in my family, great blood pressure, good cholesterol. First diagnosed with OSA in May, and then this week, Atrial Fibrillation. Had an echocardiogram done yesterday and from what I could gather from the tech I have an enlarged left atria, which may be caused by or causing the Afib...which my Cardiologist says may be directly caused by the OSA. So it all appears to all be linked together somehow. This was the kick in the pants I needed to get serious about losing some weight in hopes I can reverse them.

I got AF when I fell asleep in a 105 degree jacuzzi for 2 hours. The decreased blood flow of AF robs your body of oxygen. I met him at the hospital the next day, and he put a paddle on my chest and on my back back and zapped my heart off, then zapped it back on. I hated doing it because I'm self pay, but he said if I let it go, its harder to fix and may result in a pacemaker later on, which I want no part of

I don't have Afib, but I do have Paroxysmal Aricular Tachacardia (PSAT), which I suspect is related. HAven't been able to get traction on losing weight since starting CPAP. Too much stress caused by loss of available time to get things done. I also know that caffiene and therobromine (in chocolate) have a lot of effect on it.

Does anyone else have PSAT as opposed to Afib?
