problem with Fisher and Paykel usb card

Post by drubin007 » Wed Aug 19, 2009 1:27 pm

Just wanted to throw this out there, see if anyone else has issues with their hardware?

I am on the F&P Sleepstyle 200 Series (HC254) which has the built in usb card reader...

I was able to secure the software (PerformanceAnalyzer) and thus, chart my own progress and monitor my data.

I am about 3 weeks into this new machine now, and on my second usb card (and in need of #3). Its strange, the card will record the hours used, and show there is data to download into the computer, and further will show when completed.
If you go to run the report, it cuts off after a certain day.

It did this initially, it gave me results, and then after a certain daye would not display any new data. I was in contact with my dme as well as the sales rep for F&P and they sent me a replacement usb card. This one worked for a few days and is now doing the same thing.

The dme has no ideas of what could be causing it, and tested the first "bad" card in their machine and achieved the results. The actual machine will store data up to 365 days, but does me no good if I can't see it.

anyone else have issues like this, or any suggestion on correcting it?

The sales rep is on vacation this week, and not sure he will know what to do either.

Being the persistent one that I am, I wanted to provide an update to this case.

For testing purposes, I left the usb stick removed from the machine last night. I plugged it in today and once more, tried to load the data into the software with the usual failed results. Tried to make some adjustments (to pressure) and same thing, it is not taking it.

Figuring nothing to lose, why not. I unassigned the card from my profile. I then assigned it back, and lo and behold, I can load my data. I can see data as recent as last night, where before I did this, it stopped reporting data 5 nights before.

Will try to test it from a different computer later on tonight, to see if it will report the data or have to be unassigned and subsequently reassigned, but well see.

One little note though, I went back to the device to insert the card and found E49 on the lcd display. Never saw that, has anyone else? I hit one of the buttons on the top and it went away.

Either way, will share the information with the sales rep and the dme next week, hopefully this is a short term fix, and they can give me a long term solution.

Hi Drub,

I've got a very similar problem. I've been using the machine for 4 weeks, and the PerfMax isn't generating the reports anymore.

Here's the bug report I gave to the Rep:
  • - HC254:
    • o The USB key is normally left in the HC254 during operation.
o After a download, when I place the USB key into the HC254, the HC254 shows “USB” in blinking text (not sure if this is normal)
o The HC254 works as per normal
o When I turn the HC254 off, “E49” is displayed.
    - PerfMax:
    • o Opening the USB key in PM, it shows everything normally, except...
o When downloading the data, it shows everything has already downloaded.
o When generating the reports in PM, the most recent data is Sunday night.
o When I change the settings (min pressure, humidification) in PM, it writes successfully to the USB, because when I plug the USB back into the HC254, the new settings are present.
    - Drastic measures:
    • o Through PM, I deleted all of the previous data.
o I plugged the USB back into the HC254
o The HC254 copied all of the data up to Sunday night to the USB (verified through PM), but nothing else.
Did you have any further luck with it?

My apoligies, I had not seen this earlier. I think in an old post I offered up the software and I am searching for it to rescind that offer. Its out there, but the place I got it from asked me to not share it shortly after I initally did. Do not want to jam anybody up, so I now defer any request I get for it to someone else who has it (and an ftp site). I stay compliant with the requests and the requestor can get the software. Everyones happy.

To your problem, I finally gave up and requested a replacement machine. I forget when, maybe 2 months ago? Without question or issue they delivered me a new machine the next day (I really do have a good dme!). Due to a more hectic schedule, I usually download the data to my laptop about once a month now. Even with the new machine it did the same thing once, where it cuts off at a certain date. I have never deleted the data, but have found (with the new machine too) that by unassigning the card, reinserting back into the machine and then assigning the card back it works. Just some sort of bug with their programming....I am on my second macnine and second or third card and still get it... Defitnely not a deal breaker, I like the machine better then the Resmed (S8) I had prior. Hopefully this will work for you.
