Might as well have some fun with it, right?
I'm with you on this! Planning on making my own headgear...as soon as enough energy returns

Skippy, I have finally done one thing which is helping tremendously with hose control. I have read about various methods of hanging the hose over my head for all the months I have been a list member. Two days ago I finally put an eye bolt into the ceiling above my head. My wife had some yarn and we made a big loop about 2 1/2 to 3 foot long to hang down from the eye bolt. I slid my hose, encased in a Padacheek hose cover through the loop and suspended down enough hose to touch my pillow. When my Swift II mask is connected I have just enough hose to roll over both ways and not pull my mask pillows out of my nose. The last 2 nights have been great, not having the hose wrap around my neck like a snake tugging at my mask. An added benefit is I am able to use my Padacheek hose cover again and increase my humidifier setting without getting rainout. Before I suspended my hose, the hose cover made the hose too heavy and it was always pulling the pillows out of place causing leaks. Now it is not a problem at all. I am wondering why I waited so long to suspend my hose from the ceiling.

What I find outrageous is the quality versus the price of the masks. The idea that the Full face mask will need replacing every 6 -12 months is ridiculous.

Forty years ago I paid my way through university working in a plastics factory so I know how these things are made. One of my jobs was putting a brass screw in a rotor(all day, every day, all summer- a great incentive to stay in school). Now rotors go into your car engine, no one expects you to replace your rotors every 6-12 months and the environment in a car engine is much more hostile then the one you use a mask in. So why do our masks have to be replaced every 6 months? We are a captive audience - we have to use these things for the rest of our lives - build the masks accordingly!

I don't know if it is a "flaw" but there is surely something capital missing on all the machines : an oxymeter!

One of the main purpose of the exercise is to improve your SPO2 but there is no way according to the actual patient level equipment to judge of the results by an integrated oxymeter. This is a nonsense.
