The other option is to attach the mask straps to your hair with a clip or elastic. Pulling your hair out is painful enough to wake oneself up.
I think I am going to close more than a few strands of my hair in the velcro closing of my straps. I use the quick release buttons on my mask and do not bother with opening my velcro straps when I pull my mask off at night. In theory, I should wake up when I pull my hair out.
But then again, I may just wake up to find the cpap lying at my ear blowing with my hair waving gently still caught in the straps, but ripped from the roots.

You don't, at least not if you have the SmartLink module attached. Just push the left and right arrows (simultaneously) - it works even with the machine off.

You know, that is actually a really good idea, just needs a little more thought & implementation. If you had a short stub of elastic or cord attached to the headgear and used a piece of doubled over blue tape to grasp a lock of hair, it might just work.
Small hoop earings and a chain connecting your mask to each ear would work too.
The secret to a long & happy marriage is knowing when to shut up.

OUCH.
According to my report last night I took my mask off for what appears to be around 10 minutes or so. Don't remember doing it. Also don't remember putting it back on but I obviously did. Since May 23 this makes the 3rd time I have removed the mask in the middle of the night and not known it BUT at least now I am learning to put it back on.
I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.
