Dr. Bronner's Liquid Soap - Lavender
Re: Dr. Bronner's Liquid Soap - Lavender
It rejuvenated me, too. I took a shower using Dr. Bronner's and then got carded at Walmart.

Re: Dr. Bronner's Liquid Soap - Lavender
I still thank you for the suggestion, sepool, even though it hasn't made any appreciable difference with my Swift LT pillows. I'll continue using the Dr. Bronner's for all of my equipment, regardless.sepool wrote:Let us know if the Dr. Bronner's rejuvenates your old LT pillows - I hope it wasn't just me!
I washed the pillows with the lavender soap yesterday and used the LT last night. The leak line this morning is as crazy as it was in recent weeks with this mask, although I thought the pillows sealed very well and I had my mouth taped shut. I couldn't feel or hear any leaks anywhere. But I didn't sleep nearly as well or as long as I did with the FullLife and had to make two trips to the bathroom over the course of 6.5 hours of sleep. I also woke up with a slight headache this morning. The night before, with the FullLife, I slept for almost 8 straight hours without a bathroom break (which was a first for me).
I'll wash the pillows again today, although I don't expect any better performance from them tonight. I'll just deal with my poorer sleep with my still-leaky LT for another night or two, until the bridge of my nose is able to take more abuse from the FullLife. (It's still red and sore today, and a little numb, but much better than it was yesterday.) I really want this new mask to work for me, and I know going to any FFM from nasal pillows takes some adjustment.
Even though I loathe Walmart, that was funny!twokatmew wrote:It rejuvenated me, too. I took a shower using Dr. Bronner's and then got carded at Walmart.

I use two drops of undiluted unscented Dr Bronner's on the back of my hand...wet the Swift nasal pillow and work up a lather... add a bit more water and move the lather around to all surfaces with my hands/fingers. Rinse well.
My scent needs change, so I prefer to add my essential oils to other than the cleaning process most times.
I still get great seals after a year......lately I have been doing a little mouth breathing so I would be fibbing if I said my leak lines were straight.....although most of the time they are straight and zero....

I soaked my pillows for awhile yesterday in the soap and water, and then I rubbed them between my fingers in the mixture before rinsing and laying them out to dry on a towel. But maybe your washing technique does a better job, so I'll try that today.JayC wrote:I use two drops of undiluted unscented Dr Bronner's on the back of my hand...wet the Swift nasal pillow and work up a lather... add a bit more water and move the lather around to all surfaces with my hands/fingers. I'm using Bonner's unscented too. I put a bit inside each pillow and use a QTip or end of finger to 'scrub' the end of the pillow (still have a bit of rainout in pillows...gotta make that pillow cozzy), then lather the rest, let sit all soapy for a few mins while I wash the oral cushion & faceplate & HH tub, then rinse everything very well and let air dry. So far all silicon parts remain crystal clear.BleepingBeauty wrote:...soaked my pillows for awhile yesterday in the soap and water, and then I rubbed them between my fingers in the mixture before rinsing...

This is interesting. A few people here (and another customer at the grocery store, who was also buying Dr. Bronner's) have commented on how much lather this soap produces. I must have much harder water than I thought I did, because it seems to take more soap than others use to actually work up a lather here. Good thing I bought two 32-oz. bottles!

Re: Dr. Bronner's Liquid Soap - Lavender
I just use a bar of handmade / homemade soap that I make. I work a good lather up in my hands, then rub it all over the seals and mask. I use a bar of my plain for this, so there is not any extra-moisturizing residue left (like if I were using one with honey or goat milk). I am still using one of my masks that is three years old and it still seals good. Take care!

I used to live in a location where I had somewhat hard water, and I did think it took more to work up a lather. Now I have soft water, and it takes only a little to make a lot of lather.BleepingBeauty wrote:This is interesting. Tip for those trying to use up the large bottle: It makes great shower soap and liquid hand soap.
