Local Support Groups

I've noticed people on this forum asking about local support groups in their area. Are there others looking for similar support groups in their area? Or do you know of any and can help us out?

I'm from Maryland, and the Washington DC area. I haven't really looked much, but wonder if there any local support groups there. Anyone know? Or does anyone know about those in other areas?

Hi Linda,

I live in Kentucky between Lexington and Louisviile. We have an AWAKE chapter in both cities. I have a feeling that AWAKE groups are everywhere.

Here is a link that might help.. Drop the American Sleep Apnea Association an email or call and I am sure they guide you to the contact name in your area.

We used to have an AWAKE group which helped enormously. (Alert, Well and Keeping Energetic). One of our local sleep labs ran it. Unfortuneately it seems to have disintegrated. Try calling the sleep labs or hospitals in your area and see if anything is offered.

Here's a page form the American Sleep Apnea Association website with contact numbers regarding finding an AWAKE chapter near you. Also listed is info regarding how to start your own chapter if there isn't already one near you.

No AWAKE chapters in or near Houston. It's only the forth largest city. Has tons of sleep clinics. Oh well.

Start your own chapter. Being the fourth largest city you should have a large turn-out to your first meeting.

Maybe you've found another way to strike oil in Texas.
