OK, two nights "under my belt" and a leak rate that is virtually zero (a few spikes) and the IPAPmin set to 1.0. First night AI = .7, HI = 7.7, second night AI = 1.7, HI = 19.1.
Apneas under control and the hypopneas are still in the range of previous nights (widely dispersed) i.e. unchanged. With AI in a more desirable range, it is time to focus on the hypopneas.
I know I probably have hypopneas during the day, along with headaches (annoying but not constant or severe) and a tendency to want to sleep. Anybody for hypercapnia?
What to try next? Change IPAP? EPAP? IPAP to EPAP span? Something else?

Re: ResMed VPAP III ST Algorithm
Rogelah, did extending IPAP min (Ti min) help to reduce these RR figures:
rogelah wrote:I have a low or nil leak rate but RR is high, for example median is 21, 95% is 33 and max is 48
Re: ResMed VPAP III ST Algorithm
All three are about 5 points lower. The graphs in the review show a curve with all but one or two spikes closely around a median of 16.

Then last night happened. I was awake until after midnight.

Call for backup, Rogelah. Get the big guns blaring on this problem...rogelah wrote:I have a follow-up in 2 weeks with the doctor (sleep specialist). At that time I will decide if he needs to call for backup. It is a large teaching and research facility with another similar facility in another state. Some of the abstracts I have read are by physicians at the sister facility.
