Regenesis buckwheat pillow and CozyHose Boss

Post by brucelegs » Sat Jul 18, 2009 6:33 am

I am one of the lucky folks who volunteered to try out these products (thanks Bret !). Gotta say I am highly impressed with both. It has been a few weeks now and I feel confident in praising both products.

The hose management is simple, easy to use and helped me reduce my leak rate. I wasn't using any hose management before and just let the short tube hang down on my Swift LT - this did cause some leaking. With the CozyHose Boss my leak rate are 0.00 - 0.02 - great success and the AHI is consistently below 3.5. I was going to make a homemade hose stand from some copper tubing, but no more - this simple little item is all I need and it is easily transportable for travel.

The buckwheat pillow is not only helping with my side sleeping (and possible additional leaks form the position) my neck issues from being rear-ended 3 times in the past 5 years are much better also.

Two great products - give them a try especially if you are a side sleeper like myself

The CozyHose boss is awesome.
It's lightweight and flexibile with movement. Great for travel and home use.
It's a great little accessory that assists with sleep by allowing one to move without the problems of getting tangled or putting pressure on the mask leading to leaks. Very happy to have been one of the early users!

I'm going to add my feedback here as well. I've been using the CozyHose Boos for a few months and really like the product. It's easy to install, realatively inexpensive and great for travels. Most importantly, the quality of my sleep improved with getting the hose out of my way and suspended. I saw a noticeable reduction in leaks as it takes pressure off the mask.

I just received the Regenesis buckwheat pillow this week. I really like it. It's achange from a softer pillow, which is deadly for CPAPers since they knock your mask around and you end up with leaks. For me, it not that the leaks are even that large but...they always wake me up. I'm a side sleeper and I find the buckwheat pillow to be the best surface for that. There is great support for your neck. The pillow easily conform to your head.I found it easy to push the hulls and create space for the mask so there are no pressure points knocking the mask around while you relax into sleep. It takes a day or two to get used to but I'm quite impressed and very happy with the product.

I also like that you can adjust the volume of the buckwheat hulls to fit your needs for side or back sleeping.

and thanks to Bret for the opportunity.....

I too would like to thank Bret for the opportunity to try out these two products.

1st I would like to say I am thankful to have decided on the extra money to have the buckwheat hulls already installed in the pillow. Unless you have a source and know how much you will need, I suggest you do the same.

I used foam pillows most of my life and most recently the CPAP and memory foam pillows both which are too thin so I stacked one on top of the other. I have also been know to use a towel (rolled up) under the back of my neck during my PSG when asked to sleep supine. This documented fewer events than when I slept on my side and lead me to try many things to keep my chin from moving closer to my chest when I sleep. I believe this neck 'crimp' results in more events for me, so I try to sleep with my neck completely straight.

While I will continue to experiment with this pillow, I found it too hot and too low for me while side sleeping. So I tried it with just one of my other pillows on top which was too high for me. I need to either add more hulls or start taking some of the hulls out each nite.

The Cozy Hose Boss is great for travel or in the home. I had been using a plant hangar to keep my hose at mattress level with the machine on the floor. Reading the instructions and setup was easy and a must. The design is brilliant and does work. The problem I had was with one of two included retracting devices not retracting. One device is not enough tension for my 6ft hose with the Resmed hose cover on it.

I wish there was some way to quickly remove (separate) the retracting devices from the hangar so I could move the hose during the day - without unsticking it from the wall each time.

The small 20 inch hose attached to the Headrest does provide some added length but I think I will also need to get an 8ft hose now for the added distance from the floor to the wall.

In my feedback to Bret I noted that I love both products. I also suggested that he add another base to the boss package for using one at the "Home" base and one for traveling. Being able to move the reels from one base to the other will save a lot of bother.
