I do know that xPAP can be supplemented with oxygen. Since the oxygen can increase the risk of fire, the xPAP manufacturers do not want it flowing through the machine itself.

Instead, it is introduced into the hose via a special adapter. In addition, a special one-way valve must be positioned between the xPAP and the adapter so the oxygen cannot enter the xPAP itself.

Glenwood..........

If there's a possibility you might have to use supplemental O2, it'd be real smart for you to purchase a recording Oximeter so that you can monitor your condition. I've used a SPO-7500 for over a year....purchased from turnermedical.com and I've been very pleased.

When I was hospitalized, they added an oxygen hose directly to the mask.
