Help with full face mask, flexifit 432
Hi, I just can't seem to get past one hour of sleep since I started my bipap and full face mask. My RT even wrote out an rx for ambien so that I would go to sleep quickly. Last night I couldn't sleep on a whole 10mg tablet. The mask seems to be my biggest problem. I just can't seem to adjust it to fit correctly. Seems too tight if I adjust it so it doesn't leek, and when I adjust it so it's more comfortable it leeks. It is a medium, perhaps I need a small? Why can't I get my act together with this therapy? I have yet to wear it over 4 hours. Been crying a lot. Help.

Many people love their 432s, but I'm not one of them. My experience was identical to yours. Face shape is always a factor when it comes to masks and I concluded that mine didn't fit the mold.
I've gone through most every existing full face mask over the past 2.5 years and two or three nasal and cushion masks (with taping) as well. I am presently using the Quattro, which seems to work about as well as anything. It and the ZZZ-Mask have been the only two that seem to work consistently for me.
I'd suggest you call your DME or RT and ask if you can try a different mask because you can't continue with things as they are. It's easy to give up on treatment but that's not going to solve the real problem of not breathing when you sleep.

I feel your pain! Starting out can be very frustrating. I went thru four FF masks before I found "the one". Since then, I've gone to two others for various reasons. Still not sure I'm there yet.(Hmmmm...that probably isn't helping you much, is it?)
My point is, it's tough. This new "nightstyle" is hard to get used to. Tweaking your mask is the top priority, and there is a learning curve. It may turn out you need a different mask. But you don't know until you try everything with the current one. Comfort and restful sleep WILL come. And once you have everything working for you, you will feel SO much better than you have in a long time.
There is light at the end of the tunnel, and we'll give you all the moral support that will fit thru your internet cable.
Best wishes@you!
