disappearing data, resmed autoset II

Post by hose head » Fri Jun 26, 2009 7:50 am

I just got new mask(Swift LT of her) and I'm checking my numbers every morning. Last night I went to bed at 11pm. I had a hard time
going to sleep. I think I finally went to sleep about 12:30. My numbers were awful. AHI at 5.4. Almost always it is below 3.0. I don't have any data on my card until 2:00. No pressure, no leaks, nothing. This has happened before in the middle of the night, where I will be missing a chunk of time but I just blew it off. Is this common? I do not use settling(ramp). Set for 8 to 14 on pressure. I feel like crap this morning, but I'm off to work, because boss just wrote me up for taking off too much.

I'll be danged! This is the first I've heard of a Resmed losing data!!! Interesting that it is an S8 II. Maybe this is an S8 II think and not the S8s. Or maybe it is your individual AutoSet II that has the problem? I would think it best to post the specific question on all the apnea support forums to find others who might have this problem. Make sure the Subject line catches the attention of those you need to reach. That is what I've done w/an oddity I've encountered w/the VPAP Auto which isn't quite an S8 'cause it has the EasyBreathe technology, but isn't quite an S8 II either, the VPAP Auto 25 is the newer version. The local Resmed Rep is trying to schedule a meeting w/himself, me and my local DME supplier's RT to address the oddity I am encountering before he goes into the hospital for some surgery next month.

For a start you need to double-check that the time of day that is set on your Autoset II agrees with the actual local time in your time zone.

Cheers,

Bill

I have noticed if I nap before and after noon when the AutoSetII resets for the next's day's data collection, I may lose a few minutes to half an hour of sleep time documented on the summary data. Events still show in the detailed data for the full time period. You situation sounds similar. May have AM/PM time mixed up on the machine.
