Tempurature

Post by Juliebove » Fri Jun 26, 2009 12:24 am

Let me start by saying that my nickname is "The Pea Princess" after that story, The Princess And The Pea. Tiny little things bother me and it's difficult for me to get comfortable no matter what!

So all winter long, I felt like the machine was making me cold. Breathing in that moist air. I thought it would be nice and refreshing come summer, but it was making me miserable then.

Now I've discovered that if the temperature outside is right at 70 degrees, I can tolerate the machine. I don't think I'll ever like it, but that temperature is tolerable.

Any amount over 70, even 71 degrees makes me miserably hot!

I have tried not using the humidifier and I'm miserable. Or I guess I should say putting the setting at 0. The water is still in the tank.

Does anyone else have this problem?

I believe princesses on peas, with the ability to distinguish 71 from 70 degress are few and far between.
Knowing what a hard time you're having with so many things, I hope this extra special sensitivity of yours has some comforting aspects.

You could probably use (in winter) a hose cover, and if you go to http://www.padacheek.com/PAC_Hosecover.html you can find what you're looking for (a lot of people use it, but you could make one yourself).

Happy Birthday!!!!

For the summer, have you tried putting chilled water in your humidifier? I believe that your birthday twin, Wulfman, does that.

I thought about using Ice Cubes then I thought I would have to clean the minerals out after. So now I'm thinking distilled cubes, but how can I tell them apart?

What an interesting idea....I'm going to have to try it now.

Wonder how to make distilled ice cubes small enough to get into the HC150 tank..... guess that's something else for my shopping list.

Gourmet and party stores sell ice cube trays that are small and have interesng shapes. You will then always know that the frozen body parts belong in the CPAP and don't serve then to your MIL

Just put a jug of distilled water in the fridge.

I have one but that doesn't seem to do anything except keep that cold hose from being on me.

Seeing as how most of the time I have no ice cubes in my freezer whatever, it wouldn't be hard to tell them apart.

I used to have one but husband broke it. The good ones are pretty expensive so I'm not going to get another. I have tons of cube makers for it though.

I'm going to give this a try, I have a ice cube machine I can make all different sizes, plus it doesn't take long at all, How do we
do this just put the ice cubes in our humidifier do we turn it on or do we leave it on off?

I too have been accused of being that princess & obsessing over slight irritants .

My problem is the opposite of yours: the air's warm. My user's guide warns that the air is 10-12 degrees (F) warmer than room air -- it's great in winter but come temps in the 90s with high humidity...I'm miserable unless I turn the AC down & toss off all covers.
