I welcome input on the report size and on the report data.
Thanks

I think your report size is GOOD! Often it is too big and we can't see the whole page! This is readable and we can see it all!

In my opinion you should up your pressure to 16 cm (a raise of.5). Your AHI is a little high (not bad for starting though but it did go up almost double from the first night). Maybe a C-Flex of 1 might help some with the VS. I'm not sure but your pressure is quite high and some exhalation relief might help that. Then again, maybe not. I have no VS on my report ever so I don't know alot about it. Someone else may be more help.

I did make some suggestions about the mouth breathing in an earlier post. Sometimes people who have been mouth breathers CAN stop that when they get going on cpap. Hopefully, you are one of those!

You are not doing to badly for just 2 nights.

Looks like your CPAP treatment is going pretty well, NeedSleepLA.

Given this:

If it were me, and if I were able to tolerate the 15.5 pressure you're already at (and without any exhalation assistance turned on...you're tough! LOL ) I'd raise the CPAP pressure some more. Perhaps to 16 or 17.

But I'm not a doctor. That's just what I'd do myself.

By the way, do you have the Provider manual for your machine? If not, let me know.

Padacheek(Karen) is on this forum, and she makes very snuggly hose covers which may help. http://www.padacheek.com.
As for the VS, again as the spouse I can tell you that when my hubby still occasionally sleeps with his mouth open with the FF mask, he makes these certain sounds( kind of like "purring" ) which are not really snores but the machine picks them up as VS.

I do have the provider manual for my machine thanks to someone here.

Last night I decided to try the APAP setting (LowP=13, HiP=17, Ramp=0).
For about 12 min @ 16cm my FL=20.9, VS=26.1, OA=0, H=15.7, AHI=15.7.
For about 56 min @ 17cm my FL=3.2, VS=0, OA=1.1, H=1.1, AHI=2.2.
For 311 min @ 18cm my FL=1.9, VS=0, OA=1.4, H=3.5, AHI=4.9.

Average 90% CPAP=17.5.
Average CPAP Pressure=17.4
Average Leak=52

To me, it looks like my OA, H and AHI were better at 17 than at 18. Should I go back to CPAP mode at a higher pressure than my prescribed pressure(15cm) or stay on APAP mode? Any thoughts?

Actually, I think more nights at the same auto setting will comfirm whether or not 17 cm works well for you. One night is not enough for the machine, and you, to adjust to the pressure settings.

If it were me, I might change the minimum to 14 cm and the maximum to 20 cm - just because you did go to 18 cm for quite a bit of the night. If you set it this way for say 4 or 5 nights, you would have a better idea of what is the best pressure for you.

After 4 or 5 nights, depending on how you feel, you could set your machine in cpap mode, at or maybe 1 cm below you 90% average for those 5 days or you could leave it at 14cm to 20 and use auto mode. You could then assess whether you do better in auto or cpap mode.

Just my thoughts.

With my pressure this high, will there be a point that I should consider a BiPAP machine? I am not physically noticing any exhale problems that I know of. Is there any data here that would suggest that this high of a pressure is causing problems?

Many people with pressures this high do go to BiPap but there are those who do fine with these high settings.

The figures you quoted don't show anything but seeing the "Daily Details" page from last night might tell us something more.

Being at an auto range has certainly gotten those VS under control! That's great!

Your data shows things are quite good, in my opinion. Are you standing those high pressures okay? I don't know if the leak rate is good for those pressures but the leak line looks very good the last 2 nights you have posted. You will know using the vent rate from your mask manual if it's good or not. You don't have any large leaks so that's good.

It looks like your minimum is still 13 cm. In my opinion, it should be higher given the pressures at which you are spending most of your night and your 90% and average pressures.

A minimum of 15 or 16 cm anyway might be better but your AHI is quite good. Raising the minimum could make it even better.

Just my thoughts. How are you feeling during the day?

My minimum is at 14.5 but will be at 15 before I shut my eyes tonight. Also tonight I will be using my brand spanking new RemStar M series Auto w/AFLEX. Need to update my profile.
I am having problems with mask seal at this high of a pressure. My nose has a huge busted blister. Not good at all.
During the day, I am still feeling somewhat tired. I haven't fallen asleep while driving lately. I think that's a good thing.

How long have you been using this stuff? Less than 30 days? Most DME's will swap out masks when they won't work.
Blisters on the nose means it isn't working. Find something else that will tolerate the pressure and not turn your nose into hamburger.

Call your DME and explain. Worst case scenario, go in their and try on every mask they have (under pressure) till you find one that works and if they won't swap it out, buy it at cpapauction or cpap.com. Heck, check out the boards here, someone might have one for a test drive. If you could use the Optilife nasal pillows, I have that mask that you could test drive.

Do not tolerate your nose being abused. It means something is wrong, too tight, wrong fit, whatever, but no one should have to tolerate huge blisters that get busted. You are asking for an infection that way.
