Was looking on Amazon and found a suprise
they sell machines, mask, and parts, and pretty cheap. You have to look thru a bunch of crap to find stuff but it's there.

Re: Was looking on Amazon and found a suprise
Ya...they sell all kinds of xPAP related stuff. I bought my water distiller from them, the PowerSource 400 that provides backup power to my CPAP, and most recently I got a ComfortGel Nasal Mask....for <$40. (of course, the last was from a marketplace seller, and it was stamped "not for home use". Though I wanted to try the mask, and it seemed the easiest/tolerable way to go. I haven't actually tried it yet.
Basically, I liked the ProfileLite until my nose sore got infected, and my doctor wouldn't let me use it anymore. But, so far ComfortLite is working, so I haven't had the motivation to try any of the new masks that I've been collecting. Though I'm now looking at acquiring full face masks to try, since some nights congestion is bad...sometimes only one nostril works, and it feels strange with nasal pillows.
I tried nasal rinse...but it surprised me when this time I felt pressure in the nostril I was squeezing into...and then the water was coming out of my mouth...and not the other nostril.
I think I'm looking at maybe getting a sinus irrigator from Amazon next. Somebody (here?) had told me they work great.... but it was at a time where I hadn't worked up the courage to try nasal rinse yet (though I may have purchased it at that point....it was over a year since someone has first suggested it to me before I bought it, and then it was a couple of months before I finally tried it....and it was because I was congested and wanted to sleep....)

I mentioned Amazon 3 months ago. I bought a Comfort Gel mask and headgear that was 1/3 (that's right 1/3) the price of the exact same item on cpap.com.JeffH wrote:they sell machines, mask, and parts, and pretty cheap. You have to look thru a bunch of crap to find stuff but it's there.

I have Doc Grossan's device...love it, works great. I use his powdered solution (has all the right buffering, soothing agents) mixed with filtered warm water and extra 500 ml of saline. Irrigation is usually helpful for me, sometimes not.TheDreamer wrote:...sinus irrigator...
Gotta do this several hrs before sleep so the solution will fully drain from your sinuses.

I use Neilmed with the squeeze bottle. I haven't tried an irrigator, but according to my ENT, it's the same as using a Neti pot or squeeze bottle, just higher pressure (and of course, the "mix" varies by brand). He told me that you must master technique using the low-pressure solutions (Neti, squeeze bottle), or you won't have any better luck with an irrigator. The squeeze bottle works well for me, but I was considering getting an irrigator thinking it might work better. My ENT says it's really a matter of preference. I'd be interested to know if this is really the case.TheDreamer wrote: I tried nasal rinse...but it surprised me when this time I felt pressure in the nostril I was squeezing into...and then the water was coming out of my mouth...and not the other nostril.

I never thought of Deluxe Restraint Cuffs (Bondage Best Buy) shown on the 2nd page as something one would find in the Sleep and Snoring Aids, but I guess maybe they might help on those nights where one just cannot lie still? For $8.95, it might be worth a try.

I work for Amazon.com. Most of these come from what we call "Merchants". The items aren't sold directly by Amazon but you place your order through the Amazon website and the items are backed by a guarantee from Amazon. If something is wrong with your item and the merchant won't cooperate to make things right, Amazon will back you up and you can get your money back.
