I used it for a few nights, raised the starting pressure and decreased the time, then went to zero after about four days. I was gasping for air, needed the full pressure to be comfortable.

Same here. I tried it a few nights in the beginning, but I soon realized I did better without it. C-Flex, too. I don't use it either. My pressure's 12, and I have no problem with it at that level. There seems to be more "air pressure resistance" at first, but it seems to even out after a minute or less. I much prefer the unwavering, steady pressure that I get without using the ramp feature or C-Flex. Interesting question. Thanks.

I haven't looked at my machine lately, but I think I have the ramp set at about 8 for about 5 minutes. My cpap pressure is 12. One might ask, "Why even bother with the ramp at all?" My rationale is, I fall asleep very quickly but do a lot of throat clearing and coughing for a few minutes, and I don't want all that reflected in my data. Now that you mention it, I might turn it off for a few nights and compare the data.

I used it every night for about a month, because that's how the DME set it and told me to do it. Then I read here how many people didn't bother, so I quit using it. I didn't mind it, but it didn't seem to make much difference to my ability to relax and sleep, either. Getting used to the mask was WAY worse than getting used to the air.

I used the ramp the first couple of times, and then realized that was why I felt like I couldn't get any air. I haven't used it since and I doubt I ever do again. It was set at 5 for 45 minutes before increasing to 10. The RT told me it was necessary but I couldn't stand it.

I too, used the ramp for a few days, then felt I needed the full pressure (10) to be comfortable. Best wishes to everyone.

No ramp as soon as I learned how to turn it off. I want that blast of air immediately. Of course I'm asleep within 90 seconds.

I used it for the first week or so. Kept turning up the starting level each night until I just turned it off.
