Can anyone explain why now my Snore Index went to an 8? I have been on the same mask for just about one month with a zero SI. Now it's an 8?
I did adjust the apap to 4-10 from being on straight 10 about five nights ago or so which raised the SI to 1-2, but last night was an 8.5. That's horrible. Does that mean my pressure is too low, even though my AHI is not bad at all at a 1? It also may correlate to when I found a successful way to tape my mouth that works all night with no leaks. Now that there is no mouth breathing, could that have increased what the software is picking up on as snoring sounds?
I think I should jsut go back to my 10 cms a night with 0 snores, 0.1-0.5 AHI and leave it at that.

Hi Sleepless,
My SI usually runs between 10 and 25. My pressure is set at 4-13. I think this is one of the things an Auto-PAP uses to determine how to adjust the pressure. If it detects a snore, it raises the pressure to stop it. I wouldn't worry about an SI of 8, as long as your AHI is low and you feel good.
