Keep that spunky attitude Grandmma, that's what make you unique.
Unfortunately for my ex husband (basically a good guy, we're still friends), parents & sisters, they'd agree. Some people prefer, or even need, a more run of the mill or traditional personality. But not me - love a mind which takes a dog leg when you least expect it! I'm a bit straighter than I'd like to be. But as I get older, I get what I think of as 'better' - more outspoken and frank (or senile?) perhaps! During my married years I was very much dominated and unconfident, and I'm happier single - it suits me and has done wonders for me self-confidence, as has work. Luckily my kids & grandkids love me and accept me as I am, warts and all.
In fact, I always joke that they'll come into work one day and find me petrified, covered in cobwebs, stuck to the desk! No intention of retiring, gives me focus, confidence, and direction. I was at home for over 20 years, feel that was my retirement really.
