I tested and my oxygen got down to 87% and I stopped breathing 53 times/hour. I'm not sure how severe that makes me but the doctor wants me to test with a cpap machine and if it works he wants me to buy one and start using it. I'm not very excited about it but have been on a health kick and figure my sleep is a big part of that.
How big a pain in the butt are the cpap machines? Will I feel better when I wake up? Will I quit snoring?
Thanks.
Have apnea, do cpap test next Thursday
I strongly recommend that you get an apap machine as you can monitor how things are going. I firmly believe that it is important for a person to know that in order to get the best treatment it is really up to them. Do not think that you can rely on a single doctor, technician or other specialist to give you the best treatment. You will quickly learn that you are the key to getting treated. The machine itself is the easy part, it the mask that that makes things either good or bad for you. You cannot spend enough time researching and testing what mask works best for you. At this forum we can tell you what masks have worked the best for us, and hopefully they will work for you. Just remember that each person is different. The masks I have liked the best are the ResMed Ultra Mirage and the Activa(it provides a great seal and is a very popular mask). All the best!
