Cflex setting of 1, 2 or 3???
Cflex setting of 1, 2 or 3???
I thought a 3 setting meant you could breathe out easier against the pressure. I find that I can breathe out easier on a 1. Why is this? Or do I have it backwards. As you can see below I have a Respironics Remstar M series Pro and a Swift LT for Her mask (that I'm trying my darndest to get used to because I really think it's the mask for me!). Can someone explain the whole Cflex thing to me. I know it helps with exhale relief but the settings does it go from 3 to 1 or 1 to 3? Thanks again!!
Re: Cflex setting of 1, 2 or 3???
You have it correct. C Flex 3 is supposed to offer a little more relief but like you I find that 1 suits my particular breathing pattern better. Others find that having it turned off is even better. All comes down to what make it easier for you to be comfortable and get good treatment.

Re: Cflex setting of 1, 2 or 3???
I use a different machine, and on mine I think it is the same as EPR...
I am at a setting of 3 on mine as well which I questioned in here a week or so ago...
I changed it to a lower setting that night and found myself fighting to exhale. After 5 minutes I put it back to 3.
Like has been said, other people in here are more comfortable with it off. Guess its a matter of preference?

Re: Cflex setting of 1, 2 or 3???
I breathe better with C-Flex (Actually I am using A-Flex) at a setting of 1. C-Flex and A- Flex are quite different though.
I did try 3 and then 2 but it was too big a jump to get back to my minimum pressure at those settings when I began to inhale and I couldn't breathe as well as at 1. My data was worse too. I just don't handle that big a drop in exhalation pressure at 3 or even 2. I do find the setting of 1 better, for me , than turning it off.
I don't know if the same applies to C-Flex but thought I would post just in case it does!
