With a machine do you still need the recommended 8-9 hours of sleep or can we get by on less?

until you pay back your sleep debt you will need more than you probably have been getting

after that each person is different on needs

The machine does nothing to decrease the amount of time it only improves your breathing. If you need 8 hours of sleep you need 8 hours of sleep machine or not.
