Chat Problems

Post by GumbyCT » Sun May 31, 2009 8:38 pm

For the last 3 weeks or so chat has been virtually useless bc when you go in - chat uses 100% of the available resources and doing anything it extremely s-l-o-w.

Not sure what has changed but something has. I have tried deleting forum and flash cookies with no improvement.

It might not be everyone has the problem but I have experienced it too. You can't even type in time because everything is so blasted slow.

I know gumby is using FF with vista - I am using FF with XP if these matter.

It's been troublesome for me, too. Slow as molasses at times, and frustrating.

I neglected to mention I'm using FireFox with XP, too.

The Chat sometimes operates faster for me. But man, when it slows way down, it's excrutiating. I hope something can be done to improve the experience, because it's a nice feature of the forum.

Hey!
You can count me in also! I can start out fine and then when I type I have to hit the period to get my words to show up. Then some times it will even send up the period before my text that I typed first!
We would ALL be very appreciative if the ADMIN could please get this issue resolved.
Thank you

FF with Mandriva Linux works fine with me. Sounds like a WIndows issue...

Remember folks there are a lot of variables here. The connections, the server, your connection, your computer, your software, the suppliers of your connection, the speed of your provider, who else is on the line, what they are doing. If you have cable and your next door neighbour is down/uploading massive files your connection will slow right down to a crawl depending on the qualitity of the cable provider.

I was too busy with my art work last night. Was inspired and then it was late!
