Here's a graph of the potential outcomes of treating or not treating OSA that my husband came across on the 'net.
I thought that it might help motivate those of us still struggling to get our therapy right!

Interesting that efficiently treated OSA results in fewer Cardiovascular events and less cornary artery disease than non OSA. I wonder why that would be? It is a small population though. It could be invalid.

I'm sure it's an artifact of sampling. Remember, the 15 people with treated OSA are a select sample of people who a) care about their health, b) are willing to put up with the hassles of cpap, and c) stuck with cpap. This is a very different sample than the other non OSA people. I suspect that the cpap group also took cholesterol lowering meds, watched their diet. There is certainly no reason to believe that having OSA (even treated) would LOWER CVD risk.

I agree that the sample rates are low ...
However, the idea was to show some evidence ... to those that might question if their CPAP therapy is worth the bother ... that it is in fact worth the bother.
Not to give up!
