I've got a goatee, though I keep it fairly short. It's never really caused any leaks. I'm using a ComfortGel Nasal though, not a full face. Works like a charm.

recording device that fits in a shirt or gown pocket; the clear plastic tubing and nose prongs (the proper name for it escapes me right now but they use it to deliver oxygen to patients in the hospital);a belt that measures your respiration; and a finger attachment to monitor your heart rate and oxygen levels.
Yes this is what I had. For the next study I have to bring in my mask and they will provide a machine to take home plus probably the finger attachment and belt.
I must say that the settings I have now from the previous study are working beautifully I feel much more rested and creative. I was told to do a month with the initial settings and then make an appointment for titration.

I use a Mirage Liberty FFM when I am congested, and I have a full beard. I can feel some leaking, like an airy feeling on my face where the beard lives.

My data shows a leak line slightly above expected - and my AHI seems OK. This is confirmed with a pulse oximeter.

Remember most of our CPAP machines can compensate for some leaking - but you have to have the data to know if it is too much.

Comfort can be another matter - you have to be able to sleep, and to many of us, even a slight leak might keep us awake.

I have a beard. Works just fine.
My beard is getting bushy so I just cut off the chinflap.
Fantastic mask!
