Curious, as still on a learning curve with CPAP therapy especially in the interpretation of data.
Simply put, my hypopnea index has been rising over the last 6 months, and I'm curious if this is
a normal pattern for anyone. It's not a number I'm concerned with, shows HI starting around 2.8-3.8
in mid december, and lately my report has placed it 4.8-8.2 range (AI is good, under 2).
Is a simple fix like possibly bumping pressure up by one. (not scheduled to see my sleep Dr until Dec)
Thanks.

Re: gradual change in AM data
With a resmed machine, I wouldn't worry about a slightly higher HI. The resmeds are known to show a higher HI than other machines. Of course if you wanted to try raising the pressure just a bit you can. I would move it up in the smallest increments possible and keep an eye on the data.

Mum,
From your profile it looks like you are using straight CPAP pressure of 11 cm. If that is the case, I recommend changing the setting to auto and making the pressure range 11 - 13. If you do this, then please monitor results daily for several days.
Your increased HI seems to correlate with the heavy pollen season around here and could indicate some congestion. Is that the case and, if so, how do you deal with it?
Best regards,

Re: gradual change in AM data
Hmm...good point Rooster, as these last few nights we've had cooler temps and I do have the
windows open, enjoying the breeze. I live right on large nature preserve and its possible these
levels are as simple as allergies.
Now, as a second thought......why have been under the impression that straight CPAP is better
than APAP...read that somewhere here I believe. Perhaps I could switch it to APAP with the range
suggested, and see how that goes. The only reason I even checked it over is because I was feeling a bit
more tired, and had been attributing it to the long hours I've been putting in at work initially. Who knows.
Thanks for the feedback gang.
