Does this even sound right?

I got this new cpap last week. Has "sensawake" which, as it was explained to me, senses when you are starting to arouse and backs down the pressure. Apparently doc thinks my EDS is due to the number of arousals. My pressure range is set at 6-16. Last night shortly after I fell asleep, I woke up with my mask blowing it's seal. As I adjusted and laid down again the pressure was just a blowin' away at 12 and just kept at that pressure. I finally turned off the machine and turned it back on. In talking to my spouse, he said I was snoring, so that makes sense that the pressure was up higher, but then it apparently didn't sense me waking up and never backed down even after I was awake. Does that sound right? Still a newbie here who hasn't spoken to or seen my doctor since BEFORE my sleep study on March 16th. (Not for a lack of trying on my part.)

I'm not familiar w/your APAP so can't advise you about what might be going on w/it but since you can't get thru to the sleep doctor, contact your DME supplier's RT (respiratory therapist) for assistance. He/she may be able to correct the problem or provide the necessary advice or even get thru to the sleep doctor where you've been unable to do so. The RT should know better about your APAP than the sleep doctor anyway. Sleep doctors just can't keep up w/all the brands and models of xPAPs and their various capabilities whereas the DME's RT "should" know and understand the various capabilities of the xPAPs they provide.
