New Device??

Post by Treesap » Sat May 16, 2009 10:49 pm

I apologize if this is a repeat. I haven't been on here a whole lot in the past few months. I came across this device on the internet.

I'm sure there's most likely an extremely low success rate with a device like this. Has anyone used it? It looks like a chin strap to me.

As soon as they put that stupid pop-up on their site that says, "Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page?", then I KNOW I want out.

Sounds like another boil and bite device.

I cannot believe they're actually posting it as a cure for sleep apnea. SpO2's shown in their 'studies' are all still dangerously low, especially long-term. AM Blood pressure is not appreciably different, and only partly reported. Excuse me? I'm guessing the A and H numbers are for the whole night, but they don't say for sure. One actually got worse. This is a law suit waiting to happen.

This is just another chinstrap, though it looks better than many out there. Unless the design pulls the jaw forward, it is not going to be any more effective than the others. May be a good adjunct therapy with CPAP, but I doubt there's much value as a standalone treatment for OSA.

My impression of the advertising was that it was manipulative and played upon the general ignorance in society about sleep apnea, and was even reckless. This makes me suspect of the product itself. A legitimate product does not need manipulative marketing. I had not noticed the ads before, but as soon as you mentioned it, I saw an ad for it on another site I was visiting that was not even sleep related. If it just said it helps with snoring, I could have respected it. Or that it MAY be effective in some cases of mild sleep apnea. But I think it grossly misrepresents it's value in the treatment of sleep apnea. Just my opinion.

Hope by you not being around much lately means your cpap treatment is on a even keel and you are busy living life. Good to hear from you. Don't be a stranger.

Kathy

Just another overprices chin strap promoted on a sleeze web site. Jim

If you see the pop up, you know you are on a site of sleeze.
