Activa Vs. FlexiFit
Activa Vs. FlexiFit
has anyone tried both of these masks? Any thoughts on the differences?
I have tried both, after bombing out on Resmed's Ultra Mirage (due to massive leaks around the bridge of my nose and narrow set eyes). The FlexiFit is very quiet and has a nice exhaust output port, but is pretty stiff. The Activa is very comfortable, but you have to become accustomed to the "pushups" it does. It, too, leaked around my nose and eyes. Seems like I need a size something between an adult and a youth ... teenie-bopper ?

Re: Activa Vs. FlexiFit
I haven't tried both masks, have tried FlexFit 407. I have used this mask for several days. From what I understand the 407 is smaller than the 405. My doc suggested this mask because he said it was good for side sleeping. Info from cpap.com: "The glider creates stability and has assisted in allowing the fixed forehead rest design to be effective. It also allows the headgear to move independent of the mask and it is also designed for one step put-on and take off. "Leinie wrote:has anyone tried both of these masks? I like the way you can take the mask off, and put it on quitly. It doesn't make click sounds. Oh, it seems to seal well, without it being tight. My straps are very loose.
I don't think there is enough information given with the mask though. The fact that the foam should not soaked in water was not in a easy to see place, and if I had not already read about that fact here, I may have overlooked it. Also, when I take the silicone cushion off to wash it, it can be a PAIN to put back on. It has a grove like a tupperware bowl. I ended up washing the plastic clear mask part for it to seal last night. I am thinking of washing tonight, by using a wash cloth tonight. Rememer, you can not wet the foam, so just washing it under running water is not the answer.
I do like it much better than the Ultra Mirage that I have. It is to large on me. I am not sure if it is the smallest they make, but the RT said it was right, but it is to big. This mask does click when taking it on and off.
