Finding a good DME

Post by lanndi » Wed May 13, 2009 3:39 pm

After reading all the scary DME stories and the handful of good ones, is there something I might be able to do to find a better one? I saw some folks mention an RT from their DME. Do all DME's have an RT work with CPAP users or might that be a question I ask? Any other tips will be appreciated!

Most of the folks that have had good ones, tend to find them in mom and pop type DME shops if they aren't allowed to order and get reimbursed.

If your insurance won't go with anybody but the big guys, then make sure that you know what you're asking for.

Not all DME's have RT's on staff. I would ask this when you call the DME. Where do you live??
