That opens a new can of worms. There is no "best xPAP". There are several excellent ones though that each have their strengths and weaknesses. What are you looking for in a machine? I see you have a Respironics REMstar Plus right now. Does your model have C-Flex? If so do you use it? Is exhale relief a requirement for you? What other requirements do you have? Portability for traveling? Easy to run on battery power for camping? A heated humidifier that heats while on battery power? Budget constraints?Bob Smith wrote:OK OK I got all the information I need from this thread - Let's close it and move to which xpap is best?? Or does that open a new can of worms??

New question so you should probably ask this in a new thread.

Thanks for helping me open this new can of worms. I have been using my Remstar Plus for about 6 years now and see they have made many new improvements. They did not have C-Flex back then. My first requirement is home use and secondly DC use in an RV although I have a couple of inverters that go from DC to AC. We went to visit a new supplier this morning who is suggesting the New M Series from Remstar. As to the batteries, I can build most any kind of battery string needed for portable operation. I do need a humidifier, don't know if it needs to be heated as I think about it more but a battery run unit seems to be what I need if I am going to upgrade. I had my hands on a M series Remstar and it seems to be all DC that comes with an AC to DC brick.
I see that I need to learn how to redirect my questions and discussions to a different posting.

Re: Polarity on 12 volt DC plug
There are many threads decussing the fine points of different XPAPS, Searching for old threads is productive, the type of machine people like best has little to do with quality, everyone thinks their's is the best brand. You need to decide the features you want, and your needs, then search for the machine that fits your needs, based on specs, quality and software and price. Jim

Re: Polarity on 12 volt DC plug
I have a REMstar plus system. I am using a + polarity tip to connect to the DC input on the REMstar. It runs great. So, for me, the factory, default, manufactured device is + polarity.
