Selling All CPAP Equipment
Selling All CPAP Equipment
Hello all,
It's been a while. After not needing to use my CPAP equipment for over 2 years I have decided to sell it all. My question is, is this still permitted on this board or should I try the auction?
Thanks,
Boomer

Re: Selling All CPAP Equipment
Well, you knew someone was going to ask ...
How did you figure out you didn't need to use CPAP anymore?
What made you think you needed it in the first place?

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

What equipment? What brand and model?

I have an APAP, after losing 110 lbs, the machine no longer needed to react to apnea events, almost no snoring.DreamStalker wrote:Well, you knew someone was going to ask ...

Re: Selling All CPAP Equipment
Other than is is a RESPIRONICS REMStar Auto w/C-Flex rather than a Resmed that sounds like a pretty good package for someone. How many hours are on the Auto w/C-Flex?
Congratulations on the weight loss!!! I'm sure it wasn't easy which makes it quite an accomplishment. Have you had an in-lab sleep evaluation PSG since all that weight loss and stopping CPAP therapy? It would be a good idea to do so before you sell this equipment.

Re: Selling All CPAP Equipment
Sorry, Resperonics, guess I had ResMed on the brain.
The machine has less then 1000 hours of use on it. Not sure exactly, but I'll check and update.
Thank you, losing that much weight is one of the hardest things I've ever done, took close to 2 years, but the weight was causing many health problems and I decided I had to do something about it.
No I have not had a sleep study since I was titrated, but my doc did not think t was necessary after looking at the data from the machine over several weeks.

Re: Selling All CPAP Equipment
Boomer, it's great news to hear of your efforts to better your health with the weight loss. I have lost some, but seem to have leveled off and need another push to get going again. Every time I hear of someone else reaping the rewards of their efforts, I'm more motivated. Thanks for sharing.
You may have done this already, but did you lower your bottom pressure pretty low and then collect data for the last readout?
You've got an enviable package of goods there. Will be a blessing to someone. Best wishes.

Gotta tell you how impressed I am at that weight loss. No mean feat. I have lost a lot less than that & am very proud of my effort so you deserve a lot of kudos for a stirling effort.
Cheers

Re: Selling All CPAP Equipment
Hi Boomer,
I'm a new CPAP user and just noticed this thread. The fact that you were able to eliminate your sleep apnea, lose so much weight, and become healthier in general is terrific. I think your story is inspirational for other CPAP'ers on this message board.
You've achieved the goal I think we all are hoping to attain.
Congratulations and best of luck!
Regards,
MW

Re: Selling All CPAP Equipment
Congrats on the improved health, Boomer!!
Sleepless, some of us will likely never be free of our machines....further improve health, yes, perhaps even lose weight (those who need to), yes, sleep and think better, yes........but all this does not equate to no longer needing treatment......For my situation, I would be foolish to hope to attain the same goal of being machine free. I don't believe I am the only user who is clearly excluded from your statement "You've achieved the goal I think we all are hoping to attain."
I had issues which went undiagnosed, and dismissed for 30 years, most of that time I was young, fit, trim, and healthy in many other ways. The goal I hope to attain is improved health, a return to better fitness (which had decreased with poorer and poorer sleep), and increase in mental clarity (which had gotten so bad I had to stop working for a bit). My CPAP is my best and constant companion when I sleep.....and I think only major technology changes and discoveries could change that.
Just voicing another perspective to include some of the rest of us.....

Re: Selling All CPAP Equipment
Congrats, on loosing the weight, many of us need a dose of your will power. I need a double dose, but it ain't going to hachen! I am concerned you may be jumping the gun here. I know you have a machine and the software to check your data, and that's good. I'll just throw this into the mix, the APAP can't get data without applying air to the airway, even if you ran it at a low pressure of 4 CM, it getting it's results from air being forced into your airway under pressure. When you aren't using XPAP all you have to work with is room air pressure, and it the same inside of the lungs as outside.
Other than a Sleep Test, a recording Pulse OX, would give you a better outlook on how you are really doing, also down the road you may need your equiptment again. Age tends to make our problems worsen over time.
Also you might want to identify what you are trying to sell, It could be a Classic with or without C-Flex or it might be a "M"agic, while the Classic Tank would be older, at low mileage it would sell better. Jim
