How Important Has CpapTalk.Com Become In Your Life

Like so many others, I've learned a whole lot in my short time here and can only wish that I'd found it sooner. I thank God every day for this forum and all the people who so willingly help those of us who are feeling frustrated with the lack of care we receive from the "establishment" on this CPAP journey. The amount of knowledge and the level of experience on this site is astounding.

Knowing how to approach the medical community, armed with the information available to us here, is invaluable. The ability to rely on others for advice, ideas and solutions to whatever problems we encounter in trying to make our therapy as effective as possible is a gift. This place is simply amazing.

Many thanks to Johnny Goodman and the folks at cpap.com for creating and maintaining this site for us. I'm grateful to them and to all of you every day, and I'll strive to pay it forward in whatever way I can.

After the initial appointment, I never went back to the sleep specialist, and in fact it will be a cold day in hell before I do again. Same with the medical company who sold me the machine - after the 3 months trial, I never went back there either. Both as useless as an ash tray on carbonman's bike.(note to GRANDMAMA, this is one of the funniest lines ever))

Grandma, you say you can always find something interesting or a "Hoot". on the posts at CPAPtalk.com, I'm with you on that, But I think you are the "hoot" from your great photo. Everytime I see you with your tongue sticking out, I think you would be a great neighbor, you have my kind of sense of humor, We could have some serious fun together. I don't care if someone laughs with me or at me. If you can't have a little fun in life, it would get pretty boring.JAN

I stumbled on this site while a monkey fest was going on. I saw a great group of intelligent, helpful people who had a great sense of humor. Can't go wrong with a combination like that. Nice warm and friendly place to share ups and downs with. I learn something new every day and most often get a chuckle or two as a bonus.

I will always be very proud of the fact that I was an active participant in the monkey fest (I even have the picture to prove it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Ah thank you...I will never get rid of this picture...it means CpapTalk to me. I think the little guy looks a kind of worried too...he needs a hug

Funny After Reading The Comments Posted It Seems That Many People Stumbled On CPAP.COM As I Did I Bless The Day I Found CPAP.COM My Experiance Was This Is The Treatment This Is The Mask Get Used To It CPAP Therapy Did Not Work For Me And I Threw The Original Machine A Sullivan V And Mask Into The Drawer. No One Seeemed To Have Any Suggestions As Where to Go Or What To Do I Felt Doomed To This Untreatable Disease Browsing Through The Net Trying To Find Out More About Sleep Apeonia I Discovered CPAP.COM And Researched What Was Available And Ordered My First CFLEX Machine And Nasal Air Mask Through My So Called Professional He Was Horrified That I Knew More Of My Needs Than They Did. After A While They Told Me You Cannot Buy The Nasal Air Prongs And Suggested Another Mask I Then Decided To Deal With CPAP.COM And Not With Any One Else Guess What I'M Happy Have No Problems And Haven't Looked Back If This Is Not A Testiment To CPAP.COM Then I Dont' Know What Is

Well, I think I would have quit the first day without this forum. It's one of my 5 tabbed home pages and I go to it everyday. My sleep doc (about whom I posted in another thread because he owes me money) was so impressed with my taping and aggression in taking care of myself that he wrote down the URL. I haven't seen him since that visit, but I think that he probably did a lot of reading here.

I spend most of my online time elsewhere, but this forum has definitely been very important to me because the people/posts here helped me A LOT...far more than the medical/DME people have. If this forum wasn't here I would probably still be dead tired and feeling sick and not know why!

I don't care if someone laughs with me or at me. If you can't have a little fun in life, it would get pretty boring.JAN

Amen to that. And thanks for the kind words Jan - if ever I'm in the US of A again, I'll let you know - love to meet one day. (And I love that photo too, because it's one of the few face shots where I don't look awkward, and the camera lens did not crack!)

I found this forum before I got my machine but I was so tired I couldn't figure out most of the stuff. A friend who also has a CPAP machine told me if I had problems there were great support groups on the net so I googled sleep apnea and found this site. I love that there is humour and lots and lots of information here. I had a mask problem and found out immediately how to solve it. I was for a short time on a yahoo forum but is was so heavily moderated that it took more the 24 hours to get your post up and came with pages and pages of what not to discuss - I really don't like being told what I can talk about.
I have only been on CPAP for a month now but I love this forum and I check it every day at least once.
