body aches and apnea

Post by jazzmynn1 » Sat Apr 25, 2009 11:21 pm

I wonder if anyone else has had achiness in different areas of their body while getting treated for sleep apnea?

I have had toothache type pain in my body that comes and goes. Sometimes it's my arms, legs hand or feet, others times it's my back.
My doctor says sometimes lack of oxygen can cause it.

Just curious.

Thanks

I have a lot of aching in my right hip. I had some hip pain before, but more now. Not sure I really understand it, but the night of my titration study the hip pain prevented me from sleeping on that side, and now that I'm on CPAP I can only sleep on that side for a few minutes.

It seems like about the first 4 months of therapy that happened to me to, but I have a question for you! Are you by any chance taking Boniva or Fosamax for Osteoporosis??? Because Me and my Mom had to both stop taking it because our hips and other parts of the body we're getting very achy, ( that is one of the side effects) from the Boniva and Fosamax. I quit taking it about a year ago I now have none of those symptoms, just a thought!
Whatever it is, I hope you find the cause and feel better soon!

You need to be properly examined for fibromyalgia, and/or side effects of a statin drug if you take any, and/or plain old arthritis.

like julie said get checked out . i never had much more than the standard occasional ache , but since being on cpap ,contrary to standard wisdom my aches are progressing to the point i have a rough time functioning at times. no one can answer why this is- thinking it's coincidence. i was checked and diagnosed with "fibromyalgia typepain syndrome" since there is no test to confirm or decline the diagnosis the doc's are very careful in thier wording. there are now two drugs approved for fibro but i'll warn ya lyrica - while it works has side effects. #1 being weight gain which worsens osa so it's a viscious cycle.

get checked there are other conditions which can cause this too.

good luck

My apnea was diagnosed because of chronic hip and knee pain, and the fact that the pain from my surgery last year was not resolving the way it should have.

With successful therapy with my Bipap... minimal pain which can be handled with my water therapy. Without it... return to the pain I fought for over seven years.
