Re: .
Ya know, I really like all of you. I haven't watched TV for several weeks now and when I get the urge I just log onto here. If we sent the thread text to Hollywood they could make a TV series of it!

It's going to be okay in the end; if it's not okay, it's not the end.

Out With The Old...
O., you're making me blush! But yes, pretty much, although not as much as he used to. Candy usually gets there first.ozij wrote:Love your avatar, deary, is it SOOOOO perfect. Is that what he eats when he comes back from a run?
Actually, those are Jamie's kids-- two sons, Tommy and Sludge, and three daughters, Susie, Neferteri, and Fred. Fred was born last November 2 (remember "the inner conflict"?). We had a very difficult time trying to get Jamie to go to the hospital. We finally convinced her that Fred was mail (hence, "male")(hey, Jamie's not the sharpest tool in the box), the hospital was the post office and Fred (AKA "Occupant") needed to be "returned to sender". But then hearing all this, Fred decided she was "undeliverable" and then refused to come out.jnk wrote:Go easy on Muffy. It ain't easy being a 19-yr-old mom with several children old enough to go egg hunting.
Fortunately, that all changed when we convinced her she was "first class".
Of course, every now and then, Fred disappears, and we have to run down the street looking in mailboxes for her.
Well, with the "new policy", SAG was reminded of the "old policy" (through the "Spamalot" and Admiral Cougar threads). Those threads made him realize that what he felt were toxic posts and what forumadmin felt were toxic posts were two irreconcilable things. He said something like "that boy's doing me a favor by giving me the "privilege" of policing his board because he can't figure out how to run the spam filter [endless string of "potty words"]? Fine, whatever." So that's it for SAG, in his mind he's gone to Carolina. In the morning.ozij wrote:OK Muffy, fess up, is it SAG or you who is going to lose the spam button again in what your family consider a just cause?
Count on it, Mr. SWS! Muffy is only going to offer humor items and craft advice (perhaps a little automotive repair. She spent this last Sunday afternoon replacing the wheel U-joint in the family Jeep, and realizes that she may be able to offer some helpful money-saving tips and advice there). She thinks the A-Team here has the whole breathing and machine thing under control!-SWS wrote:Welcome aboard, Muffy. But behave!
Except for maybe that mother-*!%*#!@* "loop gain" thing.
Whoops!
That was Candy.

And for newbies who think are scratching their head and thinking we're all nuts - which we undoubtedly are - click on Muffy's link... and you won't feel that left out...

Finally!!
The spring monsoon season has come to an end (at least for now, anyway).
Nothing like a hefty dose of good ol' organic Vitamin D to get the day started.
Have a "Muffy Day" everybody!!

First, tell him to be careful running Sunday and Monday. He will need to keep well hydrated. It was a short Spring.
Second, please remind him that we need him here. Can't he sign up another name, like, GuestAnotherStill, or something? That might be a way to keep from crossing the 1,000 mark if he doesn't want to do that.
1,000 is just a number, though. And those of us he helps in this forum are more important than just a number, aren't we? With the education he gives here, along with the healthy doses of entertainment and humor, lives are changed. Sure, maybe the forum can technically "survive" the loss of any one or two or three of us in one sense. But in another sense, well, it is a particular act of generosity for someone like SAG to dignify us in this forum by his continued presence, participation, and help, despite the potential personal and legal risks. And though boards are community efforts, some experienced posters have a presence that leaves too much of a gap when they are gone. That's just how it is.
And it isn't only his knowledge, his experience, and the so-called "alphabet soup" following his name. It is his way of seeing when someone who comes here needs a particular form of help, it is his way of stepping in when some things posted are veering from accepted science and present practice, and it is his way of keeping this place interesting, fun, funny, and, well, safe, at the same time. I'm the kind of guy who needs to feel the safety of knowing there are people looking over my shoulder, because I know I have the potential of saying some pretty stupid stuff without even knowing I'm doing it.
Maybe he doesn't know what he means to us. There is humility in that. For example, a few weeks ago he started a thread for a joke that became the thread about nothing. But because people saw that it was started by StillAnotherGuest, it still managed to get a lot of hits anyway. Amazing.
Anyway, please give SAG our love, remind him that he is too old for Spring Break, and tell him he is is genuinely missed on multiple levels by everyone. And if we've done anything to offend him, please apologize for us. Thanks.
HURRY BACK, SAG!!!!!

These carbs look very unhealthy ... I'd stay away.
President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

Also bear in mind that U-joints were last weekend... Unhealthy "carburetors" are tentatively slated for the second week in June. Patience.
