That sleep paralysis sounds like what happens during REM stage. Your body is paralyzed so you can't act out your dreams. And it can be a symptom of something more serious.
I know that people with ADHD also sleep very deeply. My son had to have two alarms and his Labrador retriever to wake him up every morning for school. Also had trouble going to sleep at a decent hour and hard time getting up. Left to his own devices, he'd sleep until noon, even if he got to bed early. But even then he would not be able to sleep until midnight or later. OSA is very common and possibly a cause of ADHD, if so, then he's had it since infancy. He just went to see a new sleep dr after losing a lot of weight to get a new sleep study done. Before he had 47 events an hour, but he was claustrophobic and they couldn't titrate him, so don't know what pressure he would/will need. I've told him about the different masks and highly suggested a Swift or other nasal pillow and about this forum. At least he realizes now how serious this condition is and wants to treat it. He doesn't get drowsy when driving but that could be because of his daily dose of meds for the ADHD since that is what they use for drowsiness for OSA.

HI MM...I think you're a little paranoid ...doctors really don't talk to each other or share charts....unless you sign a release. Here's my advice, for what it's worth...keep looking for a doctor that WILL listen to you and will try to help you figure out what's wrong. We all know that doctors do make mistakes. I'm sure you've heard that old joke...."what do you call the person who graduated last from medical school??......Doctor!!!!"
Keep searching and be assertive...you have a right to know why this is happening to you. Even if the doctors don't want to do more testing...make them explain exactly why this happens to you..don't let them intimidate you. I used to think it was so wrong to ever question a doctor...but my gosh, they're just people like you and I and they've been trained for their profession just like you and I have been trained for ours. We're experts at what we do and hopefully, they are too.
