In that case it would also happen when I have the humidifier off. Since it doesn't happen when I have the humidifier off, logically, it is because of the humidifier.
When you release your lips after taping, you'll find there isn't room for so much as a drop of anything to get through, if you did it right.

You are free to do as you wish, obviously. There is no obligation to take a suggestion from anyone. When people are trying to help you, though, rolling your eyes would not seem like the most politic response. It tends to discourage future helpful suggestions, assuming I can remember that they are not wanted. I do have a hard time keeping up with the various personalities on this board.

I was also using the 3M Durapore surgical tape (from my local pharmacy), but started to experience "blow-outs" with that. I then switched to 3M Micropore surgical paper tape (also available at the pharmacy), and it works much better, but is stickier and thus pulls more when you pull it off, but it stops "blow-outs". I tape with my lips turned in also, and put three strips across my mouth: one central across my lips, one upper overlapping that one, and then one lower overlapping the central one also.

Rolling my lips up before applying the tape seems to have solved that problem, thanks!

Since last June I have used "Nexcare Gentle Paper Tape 1 Inch"
In the center of the roll is says 3m. This stuff works great for me.

You're welcome. Thanks for reporting back. It may be useful to others some day to know what worked.

I had my mouth taped with a perfect seal but I still couldn't get any sleep. Suddenly I was struck with an epiphany. I moved the tape over to Angelina's mouth. I had to go to the 4" roll of duct tape because of the size of her lips. Problem solved! I am now sleeping like a baby. Now when I move the tape to her wrists, thats when the real fun starts.

If I were to roll my lips in really tight before taping, I would have wrinkles around my lips. However, by using polident strips between my lips, relaxing my lips, then smiling and tapping, I wake up every morning with a lower face lift. 35 anyone?

I use the Nexcare too, but it's pretty stick the first night and hard to remove. So I use the same tape for the next two nights because it's not so sticky and actually is easier to remove. Is that a bad thing to do? Like, am I putting germs on my mouth?

Well, Tommy.........

If you keep on using the same old nasty piece of tape, it won't be long before your mouth looks like mine.
