Opus 360 vs. other nasal pillow masks

I'm new to this. Using apap 2 weeks. was given an Opus 360 and I think its ok, but when I turn onto my side i get a leak and have to adjust. It wakes me up. Anybody else out there used the Opus 360 and in a position to compare it to any other nasal pillow masks? I'd appreciate any comparisons.

I was given that one first when I picked up my machine - first 2 nights went well, then on the 3rd night I was so uncomfortable. Went out and got the lanolin cream to try. It was OK, but I think I was still a bit irritated. thankfully, I had the comfort gel nasal mask given to me at my titration. I've been using that the last 3 nights and plan to give the Opus 360 another try this weekend since I really, really want it to work since I wear glasses. I'm not too crazy abut the stiffness of the cheek supports and want to try the swift (the side supports looks softer and more flexible) next week when I visit the DME and get that one as my one new mask a month that my insurance covers.

I had the Opus...for about 2 weeks....whenever I turned to the side...it would leak and annoy me. (Also had the OptiLife for a couple weeks, same complaint...) Researching Nasal Pillow masks, I decided to try the ComfortLite II next. Figured nothing on the sides, so it wouldn't shift when I turned to the side.

It has been good, I can even get onto my stomach with it.

Of course, I might not ever be truly happy until I try every single mask on the planet... but I guess as far as nasal pillows go, I'll live.

I've been using the 360 for a couple of weeks now and have the same problem. Prior, I used the Comfort Gel nasal mask and that would dislodge at times also. With the 360, I usually get woken up twice a nite to a major leak - and it always happens when I roll to one side or the other. I consider that a minor inconvenience and it's still better than having 20+ events per hour.

Usually, I'm pretty tired and fall asleep pretty quickly, but a couple of time the noise of the 360 was annoying and kept me awake. Moving the ball around would stop the noise but it came back with a minor body shift - I don't know if it leaks thru the ball apparatus or if there is something internal that the air is rushing against causing it. The advantages still outweigh the disadvantages for me - I can wear my glasses and watch TV or read prior to falling asleep - so I'm going to continue to work with the 360. Also, I leave the hose free - I'm not attaching it to the headgear - although that's something I may try.

I'm a huge fan of the Swift LT, if you have the option to try that one...

I have found a chin strap along those side braces is a huge help in keeping the nose pillows secured when I roll onto my side. And as an added bonus, helps keep my mouth closed...

eta: I think the key to the LT is the dual wall construction of the pillows. Can't tell if the others do that or not, but the hybrid did not and I couldn't get those to seal well for me where as the LT's do great every time. I add that just to say you can't just look at the pictures of the different nasal pillow masks and think they are all the same because their basic design is the same...

What you will learn with experience is that everyone is different (obviously or we would all look like clones) and you will just need to try out different masks until you find the one that works for YOU.

Having said that, the Swift LT is very similar to the Opus but different enough for many to prefer one over the other. Good luck and welcome to the forum.
