Just an update, Mike will return to work this Monday, 6-29-09 that will be 1 day shy of 13 weeks post-op & he's doing quite well! But, I am I going to be lonely, not only am I loosing him (in a sense) but we had to have our (13 year old Baby Dog "Heidi" girl euthanized) on 6-15-09 but get this, on 6-10-09, we had to have our oldest daughters dog euthanized too, he was 9.5 years old! It was one of the saddest weeks we've experienced in I don't know when, i'm so thankful Mike was home during that time...

I couldn't bear to go with hubby for either one, I just stayed home and cried like a new born baby and when he got back home, we cried like newborns togother, our hearts are totally broken and we still yearn for Heidi, she was my dog (all mine), she choose me!

She protected me for 13 years & I felt safe when Mike would leave for work but now, I will feel scared even though we have since had an alarm installed through ADT, it just isn't going to feel secure around here, just an empty scarry feeling.

We have two other dogs but they are tiny, a (pom-chi) and a (poo-chi), the pom is Mikes (all Mike's), she just chose him like Heidi choose me and the little poo-chi is our youngest daughters dog that we adopted 1.5 years ago after she moved into an apartment where they don't allow dogs, he's a sweetie & he loves us both the same, lol.

Thank You for all of your prayers, advice & support

So sorry for your losses...sometimes it just never seems to stop raining. Losing pets is so hard; it seems no matter what we do for them, it is so small in comparison to how much they enrich our lives. May warm memories bloom in your hearts replacing hurt.

We have the ashes of the last of our cats that were euthanized when they began to suffer...our memories of each of our cats are bittersweet. I miss them.

So sorry for your losses and pain. No amount of reasoning in our heads really helps the pain in our hearts so I quit trying to reason it out.

Hi. Glad to hear your hubby is dong so well. And sorry to hear of losing 2 beloved pets so close together. So much stress in your household in recent times - be a little extra kind to each other and yourselves.

It's good to know that your husband continues to improve.

I'm really sorry for your pet-losses.

Happy to hear Mike's doing well!!!! Knew that would work out well.....

So sorry to hear of the loss of doggies. That's always a very hard time. I won't go through ours, but suffice it to say, I can relate to and understand your sorrow!!!!! (I teared up just reading it)......I think of the poem about the "Rainbow Bridge".....

My wife has a saying about our pets. "When we get them, we can only hope we have them long enough to have to deal with "the end" when the time comes".
My pet saying is, "Anyone who says you cannot buy true love has never paid money for a puppy"......(Maggie was $600 and worth every penny!!!!)

Sounds like you need a puppy!!!!!!

Take care
cheers

Good to hear about Mike's life getting back to normal.

Sorry to hear about the dogs. I know all too well what that is like as they really do become another member of the family. It will take time to get over that... keep yourself busy. When you are busy you have less time to think. I was in a flurry of activity myself her yesterday to keep myself from going nuts... time to think is the worst at certain times.

I just sat there and cried when I read you post. I know that pain and loneliness. Those pets are so much a part of our lives. But, I am also glad to hear of your husband's progress. I had a total knee a year ago this week, and I've not regretted it one little bit.

Oh, Thank You everyone for all your special thoughts & prayers, someday i'll figure out how to post a picture of her so you can all see what Heidi looked like, she was a medium sized dog 1/2 shitzu & 1/2 minature collie (like lassie) but didn't really look like Lassie at all but she was a beautiful dog.

Paul56, I am so happy that your Mom is doing well, how sweet of you to leave me feedback when you are going through so much, thank you!

Gasparama, Goose, Kathy, Deerslayer, Pugsy, Muse-Inc, & Kiralynx, thank you all for your sweet thoughts and much needed support through this sad time, you are all beautiful people.

"GOD" Bless you all,
Shirley
