Jeez, Froro. I'm envious - that's a lot of sleep!
From what I understand from talking to the sleep doc/tech, you naturally can have more apneas when you're in a supine position. They made me sleep on my back during the initial sleep study to get the worst-case-scenario numbers. Now, in Ontario, they'll prescribe you an APAP if you have a minimum of 10cm pressure and they saw a deviation of 4CM when you slept in a position other than supine. If they didn't bring it up to you and just prescribed you a straight CPAP, you may not have that much difference sleeping on your back/side.
As long as you're using your machine, I think you're pretty safe sleeping however you want. If your data goes bizarre when you try sleeping in a new position.. well, you know how the "Doctor, every time I hit my head against the wall, it hurts" story goes..

Yeah...it is alot of sleep. I'm feeling a little discombulated about it all actually. I'm just not used to sleeping that much, I've got a week of PVR's tv programs to watch!! LOL. My normal routine was, nap in the afternoon, usually conk out for a few minutes during the 9pm tv show, then be up until about 2am before finally passing out until 6:00 am.
This straight sleep thing is completely foreign to me but adjusting quite well. I'm a little lethargic today, and I"m hoping my body will get caught up so 7 hours is enough per night.

Your doing really well. My guess would be that your dislodging your mask alittle when you sleep on your side. If your comfortable on your back, you feel good sleeping there and your numbers are good, I don't see any reason you can't sleep on your back.

Gosh I am soooo tired this morning. Last night I had a leak rate of 0%, AI = .3, HI 3.9, AHI 3.2, You would think after a full 8 hours of sleep I'd be dancing in the streets
Instead today I am barely functional. I'm going back to bed actually. I'm going to rustle the little munchkins off to school and snooze away. Husband took today off as well so I may not actually get back to sleep because he tend to completely screw up my days when he stays home. LOL.
