*sigh* Resmed's policy regarding their software was no different than Respironics regarding their professional software. Respironics just beat Resmed to the punch first w/the patient version software.

And actually, for whatever reason how they got around it, Puritan Bennett's SilverLining software for their GoodKnight 420E was NEVER a problem to obtain since I've started CPAP in 2006. Maybe because it wasn't intended for professional use to begin with. I don't know.

I had no problem finding Resmed's professional software when I finally started looking for it - it just took me a while to find it at a price I was willing to pay.

The same held true for EncorePro and the Respironics cable reader - just a matter of finding them at a price I was willing to pay. For instance, at that time, the best price for the cable reader was from twofactors in HongKong which I understand is now out of business?

Anyone found where they can buy EncorePro now???? The only difference, Respironics beat Resmed to the punch in offering a patient version of their software.

Since Resmed freely distribute the software in Australia - I asked for it and they just mailed a disk to me, no charge - it would appear that the issue lies in a policy/legislation/misapprehension occuring in the industry in the USA.

It would be interesting to compare the attitude of Respironics to this issue in Australia. Does anyone have any experience of this here?

Actually, if I had my druthers, I would like not to have to buy software at all to get timelines and charts. The machines should all have a little color screen that allows us to scroll through all the data with the timelines and charts. Why should my PAP machine be dumber than my smartphone?

First company to make an autobilevel that does that gets my money (if CPAP.com sells it, that is)!
