Well I ordered a Mseries A flex machine today along with a simple F/F mask to at least get started.......I also bid on a couple of masks at the auction but for some reason the auction seller isnt contacting me...anyone else have an issue at the cpap auction also?....Plus what kind of numbers am I shooting for on the first night of cpap?

I wouldn't "shoot for" any kind of numbers the first night - I'd set the prescribed pressure and see what the results are. If you do need to tweak the settings, please do so slowly. It can take a week or two to settle in with new settings. In addition, you could be dealing with mask leaks, especially at first and if you get "large leaks", you won't see apneas and hypopneas because the machine "throws up its hands" at that point. So watch those leaks first, then gradual changes if needed to pressure and about 2 weeks apart.

Did you actually win the auction or just bid? Sorry if that's a dumb question, but you won't be contacted for just a bid. You have to actually win the auction and be higher than the reserve if the seller has set one.

SnuggleHose - Got the 8 foot and cut it down to 6, used the rest for mask hoses.
Memory Foam Pillow - Cut my own out of my Tempur-pedic pillow. (works great!)

Thanks Mindy...well i'm going to put the machine in auto mode on a pretty wide spectrum...I was thinking start at 8 and set a max of 15-16 or so and then tweak it in......and Sharkbait I actually did win both auctions but the seller didn't want to respond to me......maybe because I am a brand new buyer ..who knows...I bid on another mask and that seller did contact me.......might want to give newbees a heads up about that in the auctions....could be that the seller has just had bad experiences with new buyers,,,who knows...these things happen...i'll just keep trying...so it sounds like i'm not really going to be looking for any real data on the first night but just trying to be able to sleep.....oh goodie ......reminds me of the sleep lab night lol

Hoping you love your M Series Auto w/A-FLEX as much as I love mine, volkrt! While some prefer to run in CPAP mode, with/without A-FLEX, I prefer Auto mode everynight, A-FLEX set at 3 every night. It's funny how we are all so different when it comes to our "comfortable breathing" preferences! Good luck!

You'll be just fine ... it's a lot like riding a bike

It will take some effort up front but before you know it you'll be sailing along. The fact that you've been doing your research and are taking a big interest is a very good indicator that you'll do well -- I think attitude is critical.

Agreed! I felt very tired and crummy before cpap and it took awhile to have an effect. I noticed my brain was less foggy the morning after my titration study but then it was about a month before I began to notice small changes and about 6 months until I felt really good. It's a condition and treatment that aren't easy but definitely can help quite a bit.

Good luck!
