Thinking of buying a Remstar Plus M Series Model 1022334

Post by remstarcpap » Wed Mar 18, 2009 6:34 pm

Hi,

I've got a friend who will sell me his slightly used Remstar Plus M Series with c-flex ( Model 1022334). I have a Remstar Pro (not Pro 2) with c-flex. I'd get the second machine for two reasons: 1) to collect full data with my smartcard readers and Encore Pro software, and 2) to have a second machine for travel, staying at relatives, etc.

Any thoughts/feedback on this machine. It comes with the integrated humidifier. Is it any good? Any known problems with it? He'll sell it for $250 or so. Is that a fair price?

On cpap.com the three things people didn't like was all the wires to hook up and the power brick, the slightly more noisy sound than older models, and the humidifier leaking. Can anyone verify or disconfirm these issues?

Finally, is there a better Respironics model I should look for that has full data recording and C-flex?

Thanks for the help!

The "M" Plus won't collect any data. You need at least the "M" Pro or "M" auto with c/flex or a/flex. The plus might be OK for a back-up but get something better for a main machine.

That's what type of machine I have, I've never had any problem with the humidifier, and mine is a
c-flex also, you can't get no data at all it does take the smart card, I think that cpap auction have
some on there if you want to check on the price.

Thanks. I had forgotten it won't do data collection, so I'm going to pass. Anyone have an old Remstar Pro 2 they want to sell?

All I can say is mine works great! Had it two years, has a nice carrying case and the humidifer has only leaked on me once. (the first week I had it) As for $250, that is CHEAP! I would recommend and I can't sleep at all without mine!

Can't have mine......I like it too much.

However, I would suggest you contact the guy who started the following thread and see if he's still got his for sale.

If it was me and I wanted/needed a data-capable machine, I'd jump on it with both feet.
